Josh Daniels has backed his Oakhill Lions side to finish their season on a high.

Rock-bottom Oakhill boosted their bid to climb off the foot of the table thanks to Jacob Brunner’s strike.

But the real hero was man-of-the-match goalkeeper Arthur Caplan, whose heroics frustrated Heaton Park Rovers to earn a surprise win.

Oakhill boss Daniels said: "We have written off the first-half of our season, but I expect us to end strongly.

"We have games in hand over most teams and we will look to take advantage that.

"There is no reason why we can’t climb the table."
