Net gains for King Casspi

articlemain

Omri Casspi has started his second NBA season in style. The first Israeli to play in the league, Casspi has helped Sacramento Kings to three straight victories.

He scored 10 in the 117-116 win over Minnesota Timberwolves on the opening day of the season followed by a 20-point haul against Cleveland Cavaliers. Fourteen more points followed against Toronto Raptors.

The Kings extended Casspi's contract for two more years at the start of the season.

Casspi said: "My aim is to become one of the leading players at Sacramento. It's important to establish myself as one of the starting five instead of a player who comes off the bench."

Jordan Farmar, the NBA's other Jewish star, has also started solidly with his new team the New Jersey Nets after moving from the LA Lakers. He scored 10 points and five points respectively in his first two games.
