Maccabi Masters review: September 8

articlemain

A hat-trick from Matt Lunn earned a new-look Scrabble one of the results of the day on the opening weekend of the Maccabi Masters League season.

The Scrabble boys overpowered Southgate Harmen 5-0, with Stefan Simons and Jonny Summerfield putting the icing on the cake.

The division's other match was a tighter affair, with Tony Plaskow on target as title hopefuls North London Raiders drew 1-1 with Waldaf Town. Jeremy Leigh replied from close range.

Yossi Arvatz was the star man for Hendon Harriers in Division Two. His double, and one from David Morris, set up a thrilling 3-2 victory over Brady Maccabi B.

Greg Morris was on top form as Glenthorne United A turned over London Maccabi Lions 4-0. David Michaels completed the rout against last season's double winners.

Guest player David Hyman fired the winner as Marshside edged past Temple Fortune 2-1. Jeremy Fess had opened the scoring for Fortune.
