The Maccabi Lawn Bowls Tour of Israel leaves this weekend with a party of 37 people, including 29 bowlers from Bishopswood, Glebelands, Woodcock Park, Stanmore, Selbourne, Northwood and Herga Bowls Clubs.

The group will play matches against Ra’anana, Haifa, Netanya and Kiryat Ono Bowls Clubs in an eight-day programme.

The tour party will visit Boys Town Jerusalem, Israel Sports Centre for the Disabled, as well as the Therapeutic Horse Riding Centre. Group leader Stuart Lustigman is expecting another great success.

He said: "Following on from last year’s successful tour, my only regret is that I cannot take everyone that applied for a place, but I already have reservations for next year and 2014.

"This will be the 10th sports tour of Israel that I have organised in the last 12 years and once again demonstrates the power of sport as a tool to expose people to the Israel experience."
