Lee on top form for Lions

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
HANWELL TOWN 2 LONDON LIONS 1

Dan Lee produced a stunning performance in the Lions goal to keep the score respectable, but his efforts were not enough as Lions went down 2-1 to league leaders Hanwell Town.

Lions have won just one game in eight and only had three players from last season's 18-man championship-winning squad take to the Hanwell pitch. Lions were then hit with more bad news after the game when last season's top goal scorer Adam Bolle announced he was leaving the club to join Hoddesdon Town.

Lions showed plenty of endeavour on the night with Jon Kurrant, Charlie Rubin and Edward Brafman all making their debuts, but unfortunately in this league all the endeavour in the world will not be enough.

Lions manager Tony Gold was away on holiday but wanted to thank Adam Bolle for his "fantastic professionalism" and wished him all the best in his new challenge at Hoddesdon.

Gold said "Bolle will be sorely missed. Losing Mario last week was hard to take, losing Bolle is terribly sad. He is a real winner with a fantastic attitude which is rare in young players today and he is a true gentleman. However, he needs to push on and build on last seasons fantastic season, obviously I wish he could do it here, but it wouldn't be fair to keep him here certainly as the way things currently stand. Our loss is certainly Hoddesdon's gain."
