Injury-hit AFC Flixton slipped to their first defeat of the season in the top-of-table showdown at Chorlton.

The visitors, who were missing crocked trio Adam Wilson, Mark Bell and Michael Warwick, crashed to a late goal despite a spirited showing.

Rob Jacobs looked have earned AFC Flixton a precious point before Chorlton’s smash-and-grab raid downed the Accountants League newcomers.

Flixton joint-manager Stuart Delmonte told JC Sport: "We deserved at least a point so to end up with nothing was hard to stomach.

"After our equaliser we were camped in their box and missed a host of chances.

"The ball just did not run for us and we were hit by a sucker punch in the final quarter.

"You get games like this at times so you have to take it on the chin, learn your lessons and move on."
