NORTH WEST LONDON JETS 1 KINGSBURY 0

A last-gasp strike from Geffen Katz-Kaye steered NWLJ to Excel Cup success as they edged past Kingsbury in a closely contested final.

The Jets dominated the match from kick-off, but struggled to break through the Kingsbury defence. Jacob Prevezer came close to opening the scoring for NWLJ, when a Jets corner was cleared to the half-way line, only for Jacob to strike the ball back towards goal, causing the Kingsbury keeper to parry the ball over the bar for another corner.

NWLJ went on the offensive in the second half, with Geffen Katz-Kaye and Ariel Mansouri both coming close with shots across goal.

Kingsbury created their first serious chance when their foward ran through the heart of the Jets defence and lobbed the ball over 'keeper Rafi Benarroch, but his shot skimmed the top of the crossbar.

There was a dramatic late twist as, with less than a minute to play, man-of-the-match Katz-Kaye collected the ball in the Kingsbury half, cut inside one defender before passing the ball to Daniel Cohen, who passed the ball to Mansouri. Mansouri shielded the ball before passing to Katz-Kaye, who struck the ball from the edge of the Kingsbury penalty area beyond the reach of the goalkeeper into the top corner of the net.
