The Jewish cricket season gets under way on Sunday as five teams battle it out in the Maccabi GB Indoor Six-a-side competition.

London Maccabi Vale, MAL, Southgate, BECC and Chigwell will contest an all-day tournament at the Play On Sports in Canary Wharf.

Competition organiser Mark Landau said: "It should be lots of fun for those taking part, and a good curtain raiser for the Jewish season, before the proper cricket starts."

The outdoor season features a four-team Maccabi League with Belmont & Edgware, Casual Nomads, Chigwell and Southgate participating.

Another feature is the return of the Maccabi National Knockout Cup while the Twenty20 continues.
