JC MSFL rumour mill: February 3

articlemain

After impressing managers and coaches in training over the past few weeks, Raiders B team captain Rik Sherman is in line to take over the goalkeeping gloves from current incumbent David Simnock.

----------------------------

Redbridge Jewish Care A have confirmed that Daran Bern will appear regularly between now and the rest of the season. An RJC source said: "His life wasn't the same without appearing on the backpage of the JC at least once a month."

----------------------------

Mitch Young admits the belief that has turned FC Team into a Premier League outfit will be key when they step out against Southgate Harmen A at Southbury Leisure Centre on Sunday.

----------------------------

Crest-fallen Montana Boca United failed in a last-ditch attempt to bring former manager Adam Fegan back to the club.

----------------------------

Norstar A have revealed that they turned down the chance to sign Dan Polak due to the striker's unreasonable wage demands.

----------------------------

Chigwell Athletic are said to be mulling over re-signing striker Doron Weinstein. A club spokesman said: "We'll look at it again at the end of the season."

----------------------------

Redbridge C this week have turned down two offers from the same East London club for top-scorer Doron Weinstein. A RJC source told JC Sport: "Dozza has been made fully aware of the bids and reiterated his desire to continue playing for RJC. He feels moving to this in particular team would be a step backwards."

----------------------------

Division One leaders Oakwood are considering flying defender Louis Basger back from Switzerland every week for their remaining games.

----------------------------

Former Southgate Harmen B player-manager Paul Gold is considering having an operation on the shoulder he dislocated in Masters action in a bid to be fully fit for the start of next season.

----------------------------

Mark and Matt Leader – the MSFL’s answer to the Da Silva brothers – have been linked with a big money move to the MLS.

----------------------------

Brady Maccabi A this week re-signed Joel Lassman. The utility player has returned to fitness from injury and was welcomed back to his boyhood club with open arms following a spell at Inter Borehamwood. Reports say that the signing of TJ Keterman and regular run-outs for Paul Hakim made Lassman decide the "club is now going in the right direction. A Brady insider said: "He should never have left."

----------------------------

With no game for the next two weeks, North West Neasden B boss Daniel Hodes is taking the squad off to Malaga for some warm weather training. Striker Jonny Blain said: "Do goals scored count towards the JC MSFL Golden Boot?"

----------------------------

Eli Baraty has left to Catford & Bromley to try his luck at Temple Fortune. Cats joint-manager Adam Lewis told JC Sport: "We wish him all the best safe in the knowledge he'll most likely be back with us before we've even had time to notice he was gone."

----------------------------

Temple Fortune A boss Lee Fegan has attempted to appease fans unhappy with a lack of signings. Fegan told JC Sport: "We always keep our ears and eyes open to player availability. However, we don't like bringing in just anybody. If players have the ability to add quality to our squad without disrupting the excellent squad harmony then we do deals.

"There is a potential new signing on the horizon, but I will not be revealing his name until the deal has been completed."

----------------------------

North London Raiders C this week confirmed the signing of Australian Dan Garb. A Raiders spokesman told JC Sport: "We've had a number of players from Oz over the years and are confident Dan's winning mentality and quality will give us another dimension. Hopefully the fans will greet him with cheers of 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi, oi, oi', rather than "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi vey, oi vey, oi vey."

----------------------------

Faithfold C player-manager David Garson has a five-year deal on the table to carry on next year.

----------------------------

In a dramtic U-turn, David Marcus has been convinced to come out of early MSFL retirement to help Southgate Harmen B battle to survive this season.

----------------------------

Rumours are coming out think and fast from Jewventus FC. The first is that Aron Taylor has being tipped for huge summer move following a glorious performance last week. I've heard rumours there were scouts from a Division One team in the stands, but they are just that, rumours. Especially as there are no stands at Chase Lodge. (Ed. JC rumour rater: 0/5)

James Alexander is renegotiating image rights (Ed. this I can believe!)

Ami Wymbourne is weighing up options for next season (Ed. again, highly believable!)

Player-manager and set-piece king Gabriel John is said to be considering Scholes-esque retirement.

----------------------------

It's been a very busy week for Los Blancos. After signing Elliot Kennard (Montana Boca Utd), Adam Waters and Jamie Esterkin, manager Joel Minsky confirmed: "We have completed our transfer activity for the season. With only one league game left and the Barry Goldstein Cup (which requires player registration before February 1), there isn't any need to add to the ranks. In any case, I'm very happy with those we've brought in - especially Waters who is seen by many (and himself) as being too good for MSFL! Fortunately for us his team in the Barnet League have as good as finished their season, so we hope to make the most of him."

----------------------------

Female fans of North West Neasden have been asking what has happened to left-back Adam Klein, or at least that what he thinks. Well I can confirm that the Team GB star is on the mend following a grade 3 tear of a calf. Klein has been left frustrated on Sunday morning and hasn't kicked a ball in two and a half months. But there could be light at the end of the tunnel. Klein told JC Sport: "I'm back in light training and looking to return to action in time for the semi-finals of the Peter Morrison Trophy."

----------------------------

North London Raiders midfield maestro Adam Joselyn (see twitter pic on SPEC account for evidence) has been strongly linked with a summer move after visiting the SPEC FC training facilities on Tuesday. One of the club's directors said: "If he comes, he could well take Jamie Wolfson with him and we look to bolster our attacking options."

----------------------------

Whispers of the Radstone brothers (Matt and Ben) return to their boyhood club SPEC also refuse to go away.

Meanwhile, Nick Wallis' fine form has been rewarded with a contract extension.

----------------------------

On January, with an hour remaining to sign players for the Barry Goldstein Cup, Athletico Finchley raced to sign new centre back Ed Brafman. It was a race against the clock which involved chairman Zach Margolin personally driving to the registration officer with the form and cheque to sign the ex-Brady captain, who has also played in the Watford Friendly League, with an hour to spare.

----------------------------

Super signing Daniel Mattey has been given the all-clear and is set to start against Boca Jewniors this Sunday. The midfielder was at the centre of controversy as he wore a Boca Juniors shirt to training in mid-week. However, he reassured worried Athletico fans that his heart is in Finchley. The ex-Lions and Brady star said: "I wore my Boca Juniors shirt. Obviously not Boca Jewniors! I play for Athletico!"

----------------------------

Scouts from AFC Balham, Athletico Bromley and Westminster Wanderers are due at the Ark Academy on Sunday to watch Norstar A's match against Woodford Wanderers after journeyman centre-back Jeff Gotch told the JC last week that he was "getting tempted into joining Saturday football". London Lions are thought not to be interested whilst Phil Peters is thought to be delighted that his summer signing is finally getting the attention he deserves.

----------------------------

Jamie Wolfson was spotted in London Bridge today outside the PwC office. It is thought he was there for a meeting with Peters who is looking ahead to next season already. Wolfson is thought to be unhappy with Raiders recent form, but feels he looks great in orange and was tempted by the offer of a sushi lunch and the chance to possibly return to the club where he never really got going a few years ago.

Meanwhile, Raiders are said considering reporting SPEC FC to the MSFL committee for illegally tapping up their players.

----------------------------

Josh Green will hang up his boots if the four goals scored against Montana Boca this season aren't counted at the end of the season. Jonny Kay is thought to be equally unhappy as his only two goals of the season have also come across the recently folded team.

----------------------------

Goalkeeper Dan Cohen has ruled himself out of contention for the GB European Maccabi Trophy squad.

----------------------------

Players from Glenthorne United B considered going on strike until it was confirmed that they would receive new shirts. We understand they were promised the jerseys 12 months ago and threatened to boycott the club.

----------------------------

Redbridge Jewish Care are looking to tempt Craig Sandford back to the club in the summer. A Redbridge source told JC Sport: "We've conceded he could actually be an attacking player after all!"

----------------------------

SPEC FC's season could be thrown into doubt after playing unregistered player Nick Wallis in all of their fixtures. They had signed Nick Nallis in the summer but inadvertantly registered his half brother Nick Nallis in a back-office mix up. Club Secretary Ricky Lawrence had a lot to answer for.

----------------------------

An un-named top Premiership club have made enquiries for the services of management duo Craig Sandford and Sam Rosenthal. No comments have been made from the duo or the clubs.

Sandford did, however, comment on the question of new signings. "We have a shortlist of targets for the summer. Hopefully players can see that we are a team that is young and has ambition. However, our squad is bursting with quality and we don't need much more at this stage. We have even turned down signatures. It's not professional to comment on other teams players but Mr Bronzite may have a few forms to sign over."
