Title favourites Faithfold will look to move within a point of defending champions Hendon when they host mid-table FC Team in Edgware on Sunday.
It’s the Superhoops’ final chance to get some game-time under their belts ahead of their LFA Cup final at Wingate on Sunday week.
Manager Zuriel Solomon hopes his troops can overcome the absence of two regulars as they look to put the cup defeat against the Lions behind them.
“We hope finally to get a league game played and as we are playing on the 3G pitch at the Hive, the game should definitely be played,” Solomon told JC Sport.
“We play FC team who we have struggled to against in the last few seasons - they are the only team to beat us this year in the league so they will be ready and hoping to make it difficult for us again.
“Saying that, we have vastly improved since the last time and hope to put in a good performance. As I have said before if we are on it and up for a battle then we will come out with the right result these are the games we look forward to.”
Mitch Young’s troops claimed an impressive 2-0 win over the Greens in October when strikes from Jonny Breger and Declan Selbo saw them home. But they haven’t won since December 9 and Young and co will be determined to put a disappointing set of results behind him. Needless to say, Hendon will be praying the boys in yellow and blue can do them a big favour.
But I suspect Faithfold’s extra motivation will take them over the line.

NORSTAR A vs NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A
“Dedication, commitment and hard work” were the qualities Norstar boss Phil Peters earmarked when his team beat Raiders in the first Orange derby of the season and they will need more of the same as they look to pull off what would be the mother of all escape acts.
The Stars won’t give up the fight until it’s mathematically impossible and on Sunday they go in search of their third win of the season.
But Peters isn’t happy about the timing of the match, with some key players missing.
He told JC Sport: “We can’t wait to play Raiders again, but it really is ridiculous that we’re having to play this weekend. Only the weather is to blame for that though ...
“There will be two depleted squads I’d imagine and looks like I’ll get my first start of the season.
“Still no one’s managed to find kosher for Pesach Lucozade so probably a sluggish 90 minutes.”
With the team’s silverware challenge over for another season, Raiders boss Rob Richman hopes his players can end any lingering relegation fears as early as possible. They still have six games remaining and with games against Brady and FC Team coming up, this is one of their easier games on paper.
But with old boys Mark Leader, a scorer in the first meeting, Ben Sheldon and Danny Bloom possibly lining up, there will be an added incentive for the Norstar boys to complete a league double, and with odds of 20-1 on Peters hitting the winner, I'm sure there will be one or two willing to have a punt of that.

OAKWOOD A vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A (DOUBLE-HEADER)
“Don’t write us off yet.” That’s the message from RJC boss Eilon Kennet ahead of Sunday’s double-header against the Oaks.
With one cup final and one cup semi-final booked, Kennet knows the odds look stacked against his team winning the league, but a six-point haul would really make things interesting.
They are one of the form teams right now although they will be looking to maintain a level of consistency in the league between now and the end of the season.
Adam Stolerman continues to score goals on a regular basis. He’s two behind Lee Cash in the race for the Premier Division Golden Boot and RJC fans hope he can get the better of the Oakwood defence on Sunday.
But it’s Joel Berg who has been receiving rave reviews of late and keeper Dan Lee hopes the former Wingage & Finchley star is able to tame the likes of David Woolman and Toby Levy – two players who have become firm favourites with the Oakwood fans.
But Sunday will be tough for Oakwood for whom – given their injury problems – the end of the season cannot come soon enough.

Chigwell still have 33 points to play for an they are more than capable of taking a maximum six-point haul from Sunday’s double-header against struggling Faithfold B.
Richard Slater’s troops have hit 4, 5 and 6 in their last three outings, with Anthony Mendel (2) and Doron Weinstein (2) and Jonathan Swead on target in the most recent – a 5-0 demolition of Temple Fortune A.
Slater told JC Sport: “Chigwell played some excellent football and Fortune just couldn’t handle them.”
An early Chigwell goal would really make things tough for a Faithfold team who don’t know where their next win is coming from.
Looking ahead to the clash, Slater told JC Sport: “'We go to Chase Lodge for six points. Simple as that. It’s a must-win for us if we’re to stay on the coat-tails of the top four.”
But Greens boss Rob Shooman knows strange things can happen double-headers and he will be hoping that’s precisely the case this Sunday.

SHIRLEY PARK vs CAMDEN PARK
Mouth-watering is how I’d describe Sunday’s meeting between leaders Shirley Park and Camden Park.
Josh Marks, the Camden player-manager, spent much of Pesach reflecting on the cup defeat against Redbridge and he’s confident his troops will return to winning ways at the home of a table-topping Shirley team.
Camden go into the game with a psychological edge after putting Shirley to the sword 5-2 in February. A hat-trick from Richard Silver plus two more from Guy Fenton did the damage.
Looking ahead to the tussle, Marks told JC Sport: “We’ve had two weeks to get over our Anekstein Cup exit and are looking forward to trying to climb the league table.
“Lions aren’t playing this weekend so we have a chance to close the gap to just one point.
“It’s important we get back to winning ways but we have a few people are away for the game, although we have a big squad.”
Shirley go into their penultimate match of the season with a five point lead and player-manager Dave Lusman will hope that six points from their last two games will be enough to guarantee Premier Division football next season. My sums tell me that 45 points would put them very close.
Lusman told JC Sport: “We’re looking forward to Sunday when we’ll have pretty much a full-strength squad available to give Camden a run for their money as Park looks to set the record straight.
“I believe it’s going to be a very different game to our previous fixture with them on the 3g, Park life!”
But Camden have shown they’re no mugs on grass and I think Shirley might get more than they bargain for.

SOUTHGATE HARMEN vs GLENTHORNE UNITED A
Quite a few people I’ve spoken to believe Glenthorne will finish the season as champions and I think we might just see a championship-winning type performance in Southgate on Sunday.
Sam Rosenthal’s boys have won 10 out of 16 games and kept four clean sheets, including a hard fought win over Harmen, courtesy of a goal from Dan Lassman. Something similar could be on the cards.
Injuries have had time to heal although match sharpness could be an issue for some in the Glenthorne team, but Rosenthal sounded quietly when I spoke to him at this week’s press conference.
He told JC Sport: "We're looking forward to playing again after last weeks snow, and go to Harman expecting a tough game, but we’re focused on taking all three points."
Although Harmen are not mathematically safe, I’m confident they have too much about them to get dragged into a relegations scrap. For starters, the teams are the bottom show no signs of staging a dramatic recovery.
Experience will be key for Harmen over the closing weeks of the season but as far as Sunday goes, I think Glenthorne will have just too much about them.

UJIA vs NORTH WEST NEASDEN A (DOUBLE-HEADER)
The term ‘war of attrition’ suits this double-header down to the ground. One thing looks certain, it won’t be one for the purists so if you’re planning any last-minute raids on the bargains section at Sainsbury’s this could be the contest to miss.
No disrespect to the players in both camps, but I just can’t see it being a classic. There’s too much at stake.
UJIA have won just once in 11 matches, while Neasden are also fighting for their lives. The respective managers – Ben Radstone and Dan Hodes – deserve huge credit for not throwing in the towel and I think a win apiece would ensure both sets of fans go home content.

WOODFORD WANDERERS vs TEMPLE FORTUNE A (DOUBLE-HEADER)
Sparks could fly in Sunday’s double-header between Woodford and Fortune. It’s definitely one to watch.
Corner-flag-gate is now a distant memory for many of the Woodford boys who will be looking to add their four wins. They took leaders Shirley to the wire last time out and, impressively, came away from the double bubble against Faithfold B with six points.
Manager Paul Hyams is delighted to see James Ryan scoring on a regular basis once again, while the chances are that Mitch Hahn could pop up to play some part in proceedings.
Fortune were back to their best last time out, with Kane Gilbery producing arguably his best performance in the famous red and yellow colours. His hat-trick was the icing on the cake as they thumped Neasden 7-0. Shai Davidi, Michael Goldberg (2) and Josh Tiano completed the rout.
But manager Lee Fegan knows things will be much tougher on Sunday when they make the long journey east to take on a team still in need of a point or two.
It’s time for me to sit on the fence and predict a win apiece.

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI vs LOS BLANCOS
Blancos boss Adam Hersh was the matchwinner when these two met last month and he will be looking to lead by example in the return leg.
The weather isn’t great, the chances are the playing surface won’t be great either and Hersh and club stalwart Joel Minsky hope the team are able to pull something special out of the bag once again.
It was something of a miraculous result when you consider Blancos were shorn of their creative players in a team containing nine defence-minded players.
Looking ahead to Sunday, Hersh told JC Sport: “We’re missing quite a few this week, but still have a strong squad available.
“We’re looking to finish the season strongly and try and secure promotion.”
But on Sunday they’ll meet a Catford & Bromley team full of confidence following back-to-back wins.
Player-manager Adam Luria is predicting another cracker. "We've got a strong team this week, despite a couple of absentees,” he told JC Sport. “We’re praying the match will go ahead as we've only managed to play a couple of games all year so far.
"We were absolutely gutted to lose against Los Blancos last time, after being in a commanding position at 2-0 up. At 2-1 we missed a penalty which would have probably sealed the win but we missed it and then our heads seemed to drop, allowing Blancos to get two scrappy late goals which gave them a last-gasp win.
“Our games against Blancos are always fairly close, with a 4-4 draw against them in the home game last season. We're stronger in defence now though, so we'll be hoping not to give away soft goals like we did last time around.
“We have to respect them though as they're a good team on the break so we'll need to be at our best.”
Both teams have players capable of producing moments of inspiration. Catford fans hope Jonny Lee remembers his shooting boots, while Hersh will be the main threat for Blancos.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early in a match that could produce five-star entertainment.

ATHLETIC BILBAUM vs BRADY MACCABI B
There’s a biggie in store at Copthall where a rampant Brady team prepare to tackle the Baums in a big promotion six-pointer.
Indeed the Baums were one of Brady’s 12 victims, hitting them for six on the opening weekend of the season.
Dan Hildebrand was the star of the show in the September meeting, with Reiss Mogilner, James Joseph and Dan Goldstone finishing the job.
But I’m expecting to be quite a bit tighter second time around as Baums fans know that a home win would blow the title race wide open.
Josh Dagul’s men have bounced back well from the SPEC FC defeat, scoring 13 goals in the last 180 minutes of football. For me, they have the best team and squad in the division and the have real momentum behind them.
But Bilbaum are more than capable of springing a surprise, with Jake Gilbert keen to show Brady who is top dog.
A double-header win over Neasden certainly put the cat among the pigeons and put a worrying set of results behind the team co-managed by Ed Green and Mark Pasha.
I think Sunday’s meeting will come down to small details, but it will need something really special from the boys in green and white to stop the Brady machine.

FC TEAM B vs BLIZZARD STORM
Sunday could separate the men from the boys as FC Team B host Blizzard.
The Blizzard boys came good in the first meeting, when strikes from Seb Vandermolen, Michael Woolfe, Dean Shaw and an own goal saw them run out 4-1 winners.
There was something of a ‘Save our season’ feel about that match, but a repeat dose will be order of the day as far as Blizzard boss Simon Linden is concerned.
But Linden isn’t hitting the panic button just yet as he’s confident his troops have a couple of big performances up their sleeve.
But Team boss Ben Simon will take a lot of encouragement when he looks at Blizzard’s away form. They have suffered heavy defeats in their last five games on the road and with Freddie Marks and Adam Goldsmith in confident mood, there’s every chance they could get punished again.

GLENTHORNE UNITED B vs NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B
To their credit, L’Orange still believe they are capable of featuring in the promotion mix and that will be the incentive for the visitors ahead of Sunday’s trip to east London.
Although they were put in their place by Catford last time out, there is a firm believe that they can finish the season strongly, starting with three points at Glenthorne this weekend.
Raiders no. 2 Rich Abrahams told JC Sport: “With Oli (Shorts) away scouting out locations for our pre-season tour of South-East Asia next season, I'm hoping that after a few weeks off we can get right back into our stride and avenge the painful defeat that Glenthorne handed us on the opening day of the season.
“Due to economic constraints, we're unable to provide overnight accommodation for the team in Essex, but we are hopeful that the extra days rest from the Friday off work will ensure the team are raring to go.
“With promotion still a possibility if we finish the season well, I'm expectant for a good match this Sunday and hopeful we can bag another three points.”
As Abrahams mentioned, the Thornes won a nine-goal thriller back in September when top-scorer Adam Goldman went home with the matchball after a superb hat-trick.
But little has gone right this side of the new year, with the last league win coming on November 11.
However, a big bank holiday weekend crowd is expected at Ford Sports & Social for what promises to be an open and entertaining affair.

I think my prediction of Redbridge B to win their last game shocked the big man upstairs so much that he didn’t know what to do. In the end, it was a case of hell freezing over and the match was postponed.
So, I’m going to do it all over again, and hope the conditions improve as the Redbridge brigade go in search of what would be their sixth win of the season.
Although they may not have scored as many goals as manager Jon Jacobs would’ve liked, they have taken big strides this season and the signs are that the future is bright.
It’s been a tough season for the Norstar boys and the signs are that they’re in for a long morning on Sunday.

Sunday could be a pivotal day as far as the Division Three title is concerned – especially with two of the top three involved in double-headers.
Third-placed Oakwood will have some key men missing for the football marathon against a L’Equipe team who recently took points off table-toppers FC Team C and player-manager Ian Tussie says his players will have to show their mettle on Sunday..
“It’s a game for us and our first ever double-ender. A few of the lads have had double-enders before and know how hard it can be. I asked Eric Lewis for his thoughts as he's had a few and he told me 'yeah, double-enders, they're hard, I couldn't walk for days afterwards. I just hope it's worth it and we come first.'
“It's big, Danny, and L'Equipe have done well in recent months so we know it will be tough. They took points of FC Team a few weeks ago and I'm expecting a real battle, a war of attrition.”
“Matt was injured at training by Marc Hymanson in a vicious attack - Hymo, known for his hot streak and wild temper - savagely cracked Matt's ribs in a challenge dubbed 'mierce' by Vic Librae. Marc was fined by the club and went to visit Matthew at hospital with a KLP cake and two packs of Rosemarie chocolate. Matt's bro Dan, who was at his bro's bedside (innocently tweeting about financial insecurity in League 2), sent Hymo away in disgust. It's really created a problem in the group and we hope it doesn't affect the performance on Sunday.”
L’Equipe are looking to finish the season strongly and player-manager David Prager told me they will look to make life as tough as possible for the Oakwood boys.
Prager told JC Sport: “My team are relishing this week’s game, especially as we haven’t played in about a month. All the pressure is on Oakwood who have slipped off the title pace of late and need all six points.”
Four points would be a reasonable return for the Oaks who must take it one game at a time on Sunday. They don’t have to play fantasy football and I’m sure Tussie will remind his players that the results are what really matters to him and the fans.

With just two points separating the top three, Sunday’s double-header between leaders FC Team C and Tottenham takes on major importance.
Team hope it’s a case of third time lucky as they have failed to record maximum points from respective double-headers against Temple Fortune B and L’Equipe in recent weeks.
Team, co-managed by Michael Myers and Ben Gilbey, have drawn blanks in part two of both contests but they were back to their best last weekend, when a David Joseph Cohen-inspired display helped them notch up a famous five against Norstar.
Ariel Tamman’s Chutspah have nothing to lose ahead of their third MSFL double-header. They have taken points from the recent epics against L’Equipe and Faithfold, but will do well to do likewise against the title favourites.

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB C vs TEMPLE FORTUNE B
The Hustlers of Hendon go in search a quickfire league double over Fortune knowing victory would boost their hopes of a top four finish.
Top-scorer Alex Elf was Hendon’s matchwinner when the teams met three weeks ago in a game the Hendon boys dominated.
Looking ahead to the game, Hendon player-manager Craig Miller told JC Sport: “I’m presuming Fortune will have a stronger squad as I know they were missing key players last time. If they go out with Squires, Kemp and TJ up front it will be an entirely different affair.
“West Hendon had held up well this season with the adverse weather, and so hopefully the game should go ahead.”
It’s been a bad week for Terry Jeffries’ Fortune who slipped down to third from bottom after Jewventus folded.
They now have little more than pride to play for as they go in search for their first win in over a month.
This all points to a Hendon win for me.

Sunday is the beginning of an important run of games for Faithfold as David Garson’s men continue their pursuit of a top four finish.
After two games against Norstar on Sunday, they face Temple Fortune B and Loughton Orient in what look like four winnable fixtures.
Superhoops boss David Garson was delighted with the performance against Boca last weekend when Dave Sherman dominated proceedings with a fantastic four-goal salvo.
Grant Benjamin has spent much of the week trying to convince friends and family that he “meant” to score direct from a corner, although there was nothing flukey about Josh Sugarbread and Nic Viola’s strikes!
Faithfold fans hope Garson has managed to thaw out but I’m sure several servings of matzah ball soup has helped things move along.
The bottom line is that Faithfold are one of the form teams in the league right now and given that Norstar have yet to pick up a point off the teams in the top half of the table, the signs look somewhat ominous.
