Jacobs tops tipping table

articlemain

Paul Jacobs has been named top horse racing tipster in the country for a record third time.

Jacobs from Liverpool won the Racing Post Naps Champion accolade for the third time in 10 years. He will receive a replica trophy to keep in honour of his hat-trick as well as £4,000.

Now living in Hendon, Jacobs, 48, said: "The secret is to never run with the herd. I go for a bit of value for money and stick out my neck once in a while."

The competition is based on an imaginary £1 bet every day. Jacobs was second from bottom in the table earlier in the year but surged to first place and held his position for seven months.

A director at Easyodds.com, Jacobs said: "I do my homework for two hours every day for the following day. The credibility that comes with winning the title is nice. It's vindication for putting my judgement on the line."

Everton fan Jacobs runs his own tipping phoneline, works on Timeform Radio and writes for the Daily Star and Morning Star.
