Israel Night Cricket League final preview

articlemain

The two top teams in this season's Israel Night League go head to head on Thursday evening in the first of the Best of Three Cup Finals.

Unbeaten through the league fixtures, Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys will fancy their chances against Pearl Dental Cricket Club, having them beaten them once in the league match between the two teams. On that occasion, PDCC batting first could only manage 91 which was easily over taken by PJGOB's 106.

PDCC's captain David Wiseman is weary about the strong PJGOB line-up, saying: '"Having gone through undefeated, PJGOB have had a great season. They fully deserve the favorites tag. We are just hoping to be competitive in the finals.

"We have improved as the season has gone on and look to play better than what we did when we last played PJGOB.

"The team has had some changes from last year. Jason Bloom, David Lewin, Zev Aron and Shua Werdiger have complemented the likes of Craig Levy, Iain Levy, Danny Brill and Benjamin Sevitt. The competition has been great to play in. Herschel Gutman has done a magnificent job in organising it."

PJGOB's captain Davi Pushett is understandably confident of lifting the trophy this season. "It has been a long season and Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys are keen to continue our unbeaten form in the finals.

"As the old Australian cricket song goes. "We have been training all of winter and their's not a team that's fitter."

The first match takes place this Thursday, April 19, start time 7:30pm, with the second match taking place two days later - Saturday, April 21, start time 8:45pm.
