articlemain

Israel's team of Alona Koshevatskiy, Ida Mayrin, Yuval Filo, Ekatterina Levina and Karina Lykhvar has won the silver medal in the ribbons event of the rhythmic gymnastics in Baku - the country's third medal in the European Games in Azerbaijan.

The Israelis scored 17,350 points, surpassed only by Russia with 18,000 points.

Karina Lykhvar said: "It's a fantastic feeling and such a great honour to bring home a medal for Israel."

Team captain Alona Koshevatskiy commented: "We're proud of this but we have no time to celebrate because we must keep on training for two more events on Sunday."

Earlier in the week, Ilana Kratysh collected silver in the women’s 69-kilogram freestyle wrestling competition, while Sergei Richter claimed bronze in the men's 10 meter air rifle competition.
