Shachar Head described the feeling of becoming a Powerlifting world champion has ‘unreal’ following her latest triumph.

The 16-year-old broke three "teenage 2" world records during the World Championship in Rockland on the way to the 70-80kg crown.

Head shattered her own record in the squat, lifting 137.5kg before producing a remarkable deadlift of 160kg.

She said: "I think in the past three months I have proved that you can achieve things when you set your mind to it no matter what obstacles are put in your way.

"I'm so lucky to have received the support that I have had and I couldn’t have done it without everyone.

"This means so much, not only to me, but to my family, coach and friends."
