Hawks win Hendon derby

articlemain

Hendon Hawks Under 9's secured a memorable victory over Hendon Inter Schools.

The Hawks got off to a flyer, grabbing an early lead through Dan Silver following a through ball by Joseph Plienar to Dan Cohen who set up Silver for the eventual winner.

The Hawks had to resort to a defensive game in order to hang on to the lead which they did fantastically well. With Hendon Hawks playing with two up front they still continued to threaten Hendon Inter School's goal but were unable to increase the lead.

A big performance from ex-H.I.S player, Dov Solomon as well as the Hawks keeper Charlie Gittlemon helped the Hawks under 9's team maintain their clean sheet and end the game victoriously.

This win underlines the team's potential and should stand them in good stead for the rest of the season.
