Hahn goal hurts Wingate

articlemain

A goal from Mitch Hahn condemned Wingate & Finchley to their 19th defeat of the Division One North campaign as they were beaten 1-0 by playoff hopefuls Redbridge on Monday.

The former London Lions striker struck the winner after 17 minutes to keep the Abrahams Stadium club in the bottom six. Second half substitute James Gershfield came close to an equaliser for Wingate. Put through on the left side of the Redbridge area, the striker, who was Team England’s top-scorer at last summer’s European Maccabi Games in Rome, was denied by a fine save by Redbridge keeper Tony Tucker.

Next up for Michael Stone’s Wingate is Maldon Town at home on Saturday.
