Ellie Edwards, 17, showed sparkling form to take the Greater Manchester under-20 200m title in Macclesfield.

The Maccabiah Junior gold medallist broke the tape in a personal best time of 25.69.

A delighted Edwards said: "This is the best I have felt in three years in terms of my fitness. If I stay injury free I can have a great season."

Shaftesbury Barnet runner Judah Yawitch held his own against older competitors to take silver at the Middlesex under-13 1,500m Championship in Lee Valley. A pupil at a pupil at Beit Shvidler Primary School in Edgware, Yawitch came home in 5:07.49.
