articlemain

The management team for Under 16 Football at the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel has been announced by Maccabi GB, in partnership with UJIA.

Gavin Alexander has been appointed team manager, with Johnny Meltzer and Darren Yarlett working alongside him as assistant manager and coach respectively.

Alexander spent much of his youth at Kenton Maccabi and played football for Kenton. He has been a manager at London Maccabi since 2007 and currently manages the Under 15 team.

Meltzer has been involved with Brady Maccabi Youth Club since the age of six and represented the club in the JC MSFL for a number of years. He also managed Brady A in Division One for four years.

Yarlett coached the successful Open Football team who won gold at last summer's European Maccabi Games in Vienna.

Team GB Junior team manager Brian Green commented: "In Gavin, Johnny and Darren, we believe that we have selected the perfect management team for the Under 16’s.

"There is a real blend of youth and experience and we look forward to seeing them develop the team as they aim to bring home a medal next summer."
