MJSL JOAN COLLINS PREMIER DIVISION
REICH INSURANCE RANGERS WHITE 9 PRESTFIELD 4
Jonny Franks shot to the top of the MJSL scoring charts – but his four-goal salvo proved in vain in this 13-goal thriller.
Hitman Franks has been scoring goals for fun since his summer arrival at new boys Prestfield.
But it was at the other end that led to the downfall of Zak Marks’ men as Reich Insurance White netted nine goals.
Yoni Shadmi’s hat-trick, a brace from Andy Shaffer along with strikes from Dan Vandermolen and Michael Gaswirth, Ovadia Klyne and Max Sugerman completed the rout.
Reich player-manager Gaswirth hailed his new team for hitting the ground running.
Reich White were formed as part of a breakaway from the Blue team only last month.
Gaswirth said: "The boys have come firing out of the blocks.
"It’s not about having a point to prove but about wanting to play every week. The hunger is there at the moment.
"We don’t want that to change and with healthy competition for places, there’s no reason why the standards will drop."
Prestfield’s hopes weren’t helped by their poor disciplinary record, with Ari Steinberger receiving his marching orders in the first-half.
The new boys are still searching for their first win but Marks believes it’s a matter of time before they break their duck.
Marks added: "We've been competitive in every single match.
"If we cut out the simple mistakes then we will be off and running. I have every confidence in my players."
