Fortune dent Raiders’ title bid

articlemain

Division One league leaders North London Raiders dropped a point to lowly Temple Fortune A, with Ashley Davidson and Ilan Cohen’s goals being cancelled out by Fortune’s Yali Mamouri and Dean Ingram.

Glenthorne United A beat Faithfold 7-4 with Glenthorne’s goals coming from Greg Morris (3), Sid Shaw, Jason Lennard, Dave Michaels and Richard Goldstein, whilst Faithfold’s scorers were Adam Barton, Andy Hearn, Mark Klinger and James Bloom.

Glenthorne United B and Ashlodge played out a goalless encounter, with Glenthorne holding out for 80 minutes with 10 men after Jon Bolle’s early dismissal.

In the clash of the previously unbeaten top two in Division 2, an early Ian Sumray goal was all that separated Clayhall A from Norstar in a close and competitive game, maintaining Clayhall’s record and strengthening their title challenge.

London Maccabi Lions B saw their title hopes dented as they drew 4-4 with Brady Maccabi B. Roger Kay and Mike Lee had put Brady 2-0 up, and despite further goals from Gary Rose and Tiggy Taylor, they had to settle for a point as Lions hit back through Paul Wise, Howard Freeman, Arthur Duke and David Price.
