PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND 2
TEMPLE FORTUNE A 1 CAMDEN PARK 1 AET (Fortune won 5-3 on penalties)

First division Temple Fortune A needed penalties to see off Division Two high-flyers Camden at Gosling Park.

It finished 1-1 after extra time with Lee Fegan's men holding their nerve to win 5-3 in the shootout. B team played Ben David stepped up to convert the decisive kick.

Fortune went ahead through a header from Matt Gilbery. Camden missed a golden chance to equalise but stand-in keeper Lee Fegan saved a penalty in a sign of things to come.

Camden threw everything at Fortune but Fegan in goal made another great save. The visitors eventually drew level Richard Silver midway through the second half as Fortune dug deep, without offering too much going forwards, and held out for the shootout.

Then Fegan took centre stage in the shootout - saving the fourth Camden effort before David had the guts to step up and convert our fifth.

Fortune's other penalty scorers were Brett Stead, Robert Benson, Jeff Bathija and Jason Miller.

Fortune assistant-manager Jack Morris told JC Sport: "I don't really know how we won this match as we had a severely depleted squad and had to play my co-manager Lee Fegan in goal. We also had to call up two B team players and play a couple of players with knocks, as we really didn't want to concede the tie.

"I have to give great credit to my team who all defended superbly and this was probably our most satisfying victory of the season.

"The spirit of the players was superb and the effort was magnificent from everyone.

"Also like to praise Jason Miller who was forced into centre midfield and was fantastic. Benji Mannheim was also once again a rock at centre back. but special mention to Lee who played like he's always been a keeper!"

Camden's Nick Kagan told JC Sport: "We missed countless chances to win the game, but it wasn't our day. Decent performance nonetheless."
