A strike from Jordan Davies earned Pinner JFC a 1-0 victory over Omonia White in the WFL Under Nine Spring Shield.

The Sky Blues took a break from their league campaign to face Omonia White in the first of three games in Group A. The team that top the group going through to the next round proper.

Pinner and Omonia had already met twice in the league, with Pinner coming out on top on both occasions.

The game got off to a cagey start and there was little to separate the teams during the first half.

The Sky Blues had to wait until 10 minutes before full time for the only goal of a game of few chances. The ball dropped nicely for left back Davies who let fly from 20 yards. The strike found a gap in the Ominia defence, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Matchwinner Davies picked up the man-of-the-match award.

Both teams came close to scoring in the last five minutes, but some fine goalkeeping from Pinner's second choice keeper, Simon Cohen, saw them come away with the victory which leaves them at the top of the group.
