Danny Caro's Team of the Week: October 23

articlemain

Here is my Team of the Week for Matchday 8 of the JC MSFL season.

STEVE MURAD (TEMPLE FORTUNE A) - put in a top-class display to deny Division One leaders Redbridge B a sixth consecutive victory

ED WEICZ (BRIXTON OLD BOYS A) - inspired his team to a stunning victory in the Sunday FA Cup, where they became the first team to beat Mass FC in almost two and a half years

JAMES FOLEY-COMER (NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B) - one of many heroes in an Orange shirt in the sensational victory over leaders Faithfold A. He had to wait patiently for a place in the team at the start of the season but he was phenomenal. Outstanding defensively but also a threat going forward”

ROB COHEN (JEWVENTUS) - although striker Nigel Sommeck grabbed the headlines, victory could not have been possible without the efforts of ‘Bobsie’

ALEX ROSENTHAL (HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A) - See Player of the Week

JOSH MARKS (CAMDEN PARK) - was a man-mountain in central midfield. combative, composed and clever, he led by example. After missing the whole of last season through injury, he's growing in stature every game

DANNY BLOOM (NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A) - Bloomy came of age in the back-yard of the MSFL champions. Having played left-back and left-mid, he put in a level of performance that not many knew he had in him in the middle of the park. A whole-hearted and energetic display laid the foundations for a thrilling win – his team’s first of the season

STEFAN BENFREDJ (SHIRLEY PARK) - while Saul Conway helped himself to five goals, Benfredj pulled the strings and chipped in with a hat-trick of his own in the 12-1 demolition of JLGB

DORON WEINSTEIN (REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C) - three goals against Faithfold C from a striker, who according to his manager, is “starting to frighten defences”. He’s in the form of his life right now

ASSI AVITAL (UJIA) - nominated by both managers, hat-trick hero Avital was at his best as the U’s stunned title-chasing Los Blancos. They just couldn’t live with him

ADAM JASON (NORSTAR A - Jason turned heads in both camps with the kind of display that explains why Phil Peters paid such good money for him. “Two goals on his first appearance of the season but his all-round play was superb; holds the ball up like no-0ne else and put his influence on the game dictating Norstar’s attacking tempo”
