Danny Caro's Team of the Week: May 12

articlemain

The efforts of players from the Maccabi Masters League, who featured in the big cup finals at Wingate & Finchley, are reflected in this week's top JC team.

1. James CASTLE (Southgate Harmen) - "was outstanding against Camden Park, and I can honestly say that it was the best goalkeeping perfromance I have ever seen on a Sunday morning. James saved a penalty in the first half and made countless quality saves to keep us in the game. He is going to the Maccabia in the summer and on Sunday he showed why"

2. Alex LEWIS (North West Neasden A) - an unsung hero in the draw against Faithfold, hardly put a foot wrong

3. Adam KOSKY (London Maccabi Lions B) - "played in left back for the majority of the matches and was a real class act"

4. Barnett HORWITZ (London Maccabi Lions) - MOM in the Henry Swerner Cup final. Did an excellent job marshalling NLR pace ace Gary Cohen

5. Jordan SAPLER (Glenthorne United B) - "back to the Sapler of previous seasons, controlled the Glenthorne defence winning the ball in the air and on the floor on at least 6 or 7 occasions to restrict Redbridge attack to half chances. A composed tough tackling performance"

6. Laurence LEIGH (London Maccabi Lions) - led NLR a merry dance with his pace and movement out wide

7. Yoni RAEBURN (Faithfold B) - hat-trick hero in the draw against Neasden, including a rare header!

8. Greg MORRIS (Glenthorne United B) - EDRS Stonegrove couldn't live with the speedster who capped an excellent performance in the Nathan Horwitz Cup final with a goal

9. Daniel LASSMAN (Glenthorne United A) - two goals to win the game against Chigwell

10. Daniel SIMONS (Blizzard Storm) See PLAYER OF THE YEAR

11. Guy MARKS (Camden Park) - capped a stunning display on the left flank with a sublime finish in the draw against Harmen
