articlemain

Maccabi GB and Maccabi GB Scotland were celebrating as four British tennis players won medals at the 13th Maccabi Slovakia Tennis Tournament.

Geoff Isaacs won bronze in the Men’s Masters Singles, with his wife, Dawn, taking the same prize in the Masters Women’s category.

At the same time Nick Baum (representing Maccabi GB) and Errol Hornstein (representing Maccabi GB Scotland) beat a number of other competitors to claim bronze in the Men’s Masters Doubles.

The annual event, held in Bratislava, was held over two days and welcomed participants from across Europe. It consisted of Singles and Doubles competitions for male and female tennis players from Juniors to Masters level.

Geoff Isaacs said: "This was a wonderfully-organised event all round. We enjoyed the tennis as well as making new, Jewish friends from over 10 different countries. This culminated in a fabulous Purim Party hosted by the Bratislava Jewish Community.

"A huge ‘Thank You’ must go to Dagmar and Motti, and the rest of the team, for hosting this event."
