JC MSFL DIVISION ONE
Redbridge Jewish Care B 1 Brixton Old Boys A 6

Brixton Old Boys A will be playing Premier Division football next season after hitting Redbridge for six at Donkey Lane.

John Nitka's men needed to win the game to pip Norstar A to second place and a dominant second half display did the trick at Enfield Playing Fields.

Jamie Kent, Michael Posner, Alon Heshkorn (2) and Rob Hershkorn (2) were the goal heroes for Brixton in a game where they scored all their goals in the second half.

Redbridge's consolation came through Richie Caplin.

After 55 minutes Rob Hershkorn delivered a defence-splitting pass for Kent to smash the ball home the opener.

The goal calmed Brixton's nerves and they took total control of the game and played some delightful football.

Alon Hershkorn then scored twice (57 & 69), followed by Rob Hershkorn (72 & 78) with substitute Michael Posner scoring in the 75th minute.

Jubilant Brixton boss John Nitka told JC Sport: "After a very nervous first 45 minutes we did not get going, however the second half was a different story.

"Our midfield of Ben Weinberg, George Fierstone and James Kaye controlling the game. A massive thank you to my players and look forward to next season.

"We have had a fantastic year finishing off with back to back promotions from Division Two into the Premiership, as I predicted. Roll on next season!"

RJC boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "We promised Norstar we would do every thing possible to win this game and the 10 players who played in the first half were superb. Not only was it 0-0 at half time, but we even created the better chances, and if anything we egged the first half with Brixton not having any answers to the the way we set up.

"The game changed when we had 10 men on the pitch. We seemed to relax because we had 11 men on the pitch, and they caught us with two goals in 15 minutes.

"As I promised I then pushed more men forward to try to get back in the game and give Norstar a chance, but we got caught again on the counter-attack and then for the last 15 minutes we had to play with 10 men which meant we played for 60 minutes with 10 men. It was to much too ask from this courageous team, but we got some reward for our great efforts with a goal five mins from time.

"I was was very proud of them all, for putting in a fantastic effort with so few regular players playing. This has ended up being a very disappointing season which started so well. The team suffered some bad injuries players, plus some not wanting to play any more and other players not getting out of bed. We also had one player baned all season because of money owed to a previous club from the previous three years, and we lost two players because of work commitments.

"The players who carried on and turned out week in week out were superb. They showed great character throughout. As for next season, we have a base of very good players who would walk into most Premier teams. We are look ing to add 3-4 very good players who are committed to play in a very good football team that wants to play week in week out, and most importantly enjoy there football. Give me a call on 07957368597."

Brixton: Jake Doffman, Rob Blackman, Ed Weisz, Sam Franks, James Lee, James Kaye, Ben Weinberg, George Fierstone, Rob Hershkorn, Alon Hershkorn, Jamie Kent. Subs Michael Posner, Gideon Sidi, Simon Lindall, Jamie Gurvitz, Craig Draper
