Brady Maccabi A grabbed Rowley Lane bragging rights after smashing eight past the Lions in a one-sided Peter Morrison Trophy tie.

Bradley Sharp, Marc Lazare, Josh Gordon, Jordan Nathan, Alex Hershman, Jonathan Green, Jon, Ellis and Alex Hershman found the net for Brady in a mesmerising performance.

Lions' consolation came through Alex Bowman.

Brady's Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "Ben Joseph was man of the match by miles he ran the game and it was a shame he never got on the scoresheet.

"Brad Sharp, Jonny Ellis, Jordan Nathan and Ryan Fox were brilliant at the back, never giving the Lions attack a sniff while Alex Hershman, rob Lerner and jonathan green were brilliant out wide giving us loads of options, Matt Sofier and Josh Gordon did not miss a tackle all day, and Mark Lazare was like a whippet up front, he chased everything down and gave their young back four a nightmare first half.

"Oli Colmans had his quietest morning ever and was only called upon once and made a great save from a TJ Keterman free kick..all up for team of the week...

"It was a brilliant all round team performance and yes Lions had an off-day but from start to finish we controlled the game and never let them settle. I am sure they will be up for revenge next week in the league."

Lions manager Andy Landesberg told JC Sport: "The high of last Sunday's cup win was replaced with the very lowest point of the season for the Lions.

"It was a poor display by most of the team, and to single anybody out would be extremely cruel, but those present on and off the pitch have the key to answering that question.

"Brady were everything we were not. The competed strongly throughout the hole 90 minutes. Their defending was tight and strong, the midfield was outstanding, especially the quality of Ben Joseph, and up front they always looked like scoring.

"It was hard to believe that this was the same team who played last week, and mistake after mistake, ripped the heart out of the Lions team and removed anything that looked remotely like confidence.

"If you take the compliments and plaudits from the previous week, then you have to stand up and be criticised and take responsibility for what happened today. I accept that responsibility, and will work extremely hard to get us up and focused for next week league game against the same opposition.

"Every one of those players out there today know what they did and didn't do, and I know they want to put it wright next week, we came crashing down to earth today, and in a very painful way.

"Well done to a superb Brady side, there was no luck or good fortune on their part, just the better team."

"We need next week to show what we didn't do today."
