BRADY MACCABI B 3 BOCA JEWNIORS

Brady boss Josh Dagul praised his troops following their opening day victory over fellow new boys Boca Jewniors.

Strikes from Ben Hildebrand, Ollie Kay and Marc Maynard wrapped up a deserved victory following a solid performance.

A tightly contested game to begin with but 20 minutes in Brady begun to take control. A few goal-scoring opportunities were wasted but then Brady took the lead. James Joseph was brought down after a mazy run, leading to a Brady free-kick 25 yards out. Hildebrand stepped up to the freekick and powered it into the left corner.

Brady upped the tempo and centre back Kay doubled the advantage with a powerful header from a Sam Sinclair corner.

Brady started the second half in sloppy fashion and Boca took advantage of that with some pressure of their own. It wasn't long before they had pulled one back to make it 2-1.

However, Brady then regained control and soon scored what turned out to be the decisive goal. Some excellent work by Jason Davis sent Kane Alexander through to square the ball to Maynard, who finished neatly for It was a great team goal.

A delighted Dagul said: "Overall it was a great start to the season for Brady Maccabi B, hopefully a sign of things to come.

"There were commanding performances from Daniel Korn and Jonny Meltzer, as well as a good performance from Sam Sinclair.

"Captain James Joseph showed signs that he could be a player to watch with a few mazy runs. But man of the match goes to Jason Davis who had a solid game for the whole 90 minutes."
