BGT final preview: Neasden pen pics

articlemain

LOUIS TAYLOR - (Player-Manager)- top-scorer for two seasons running, Louis Taylor will miss as many chances as he scores! What he lacks in tactical knowhow, he makes up for in passion for the team

ADAM LEVENE - captain fantastic, Adam Levene has been the heart of the team since it reformed in 2010. A mild mannered doctor off the pitch, Adam is far from that on it!

RICHIE BRAHAM - player of the year for 2010/2011, Richie has made the transition from 5-a-side football to the 11-a-side game with aplomb. Doesn’t like to be sub/subbed!

JON BENJAMIN - with over 20 years worth of experience in Jewish football, Jon features as a full-back with the ability to operate on either wing. Or so he claims! A previous winner of this competition

JOEL KANUTIN - one of the ‘Neasden youth’, Joel operates as a striker or on the wings. Studying law, he hopes he can make his family even more proud by featuring in his first major cup final

ALI MARKS - a late addition to the team this season, Ali has been a vital cog in the Neasden machine. A man who likes a tackle or 10!

TONY CHADWICK - one of the old guard, Tony can feature at left-back or in the middle of the defence (however much he fancies himself as a winger!)

SIMON COHEN - known as the Modric of the team, Simon is capable of defence-splitting passes with his sweet left foot. He also asked to move to Chelsea pre-season!

BENJI GOURGEY - Benji ‘Bale’ as he has been nicknamed, Gourgey is another graduate of the famed Neasden youth academy. A wide midfielder, Benji has been a standout performer this year

SIMON LEVENE - the brother of captain Adam, Simon’s commitment and hard tackling have been worth their weight in gold (not only to NWN, but in the weekly yellow card fines he has to pay!)

JAMIE ISENWATER - a journeyman centre-back, Jamie has been described as a cross between Norris McWhirter and Floella Benjamin. His hobbies include squirrel tossing, hopscotch and ironing potatoes. His beard is key

MARK ENGEL - Mark has cemented his place in the team throughout this season's cup run. In a new central midfield role, he’s continued to improve. Always willing to give formation advice, regardless of whether it is requested or not!

MICHAEL PERKIN - having joined half-way through the season, Michael has been everything you need from a GK at this level; solid, dependable and capable of the odd world-class save!

ELLIOT SETYON - a striker by trade, Elliot has struggled with fitness this season. When fit, he is a player capable of calm finishing when the pressure is on. Never replies to emails!

ARON LEWIS - at full-back or in midfield, as well as chipping in with the odd goal, Aron’s commitment to the team has led to him forsaking trips to see his girlfriend. What a man!

OLI JOSEPH - The ‘big man’ up front, Oli can hold the ball up and head it – a rarity in Jewish football! Scored a cracker in the semi-final to taken them to Wingate

SAM CUCUREL - Sam has developed as a player more than most this season. He now needs to develop the ability to reply to emails before the end of the week!

JONNY FRANKS - Jonny, where have you been?! A big part of the team early in the season, Jonny has been working too hard to play recently. Gone, but never forgotten!

DANIEL LANGER - although restricted to a few substitute appearances, Daniel is the very heart of Neasden. Now saving the world in Rwanda. Seriously!

ROSS KESTER - alhough he hasn’t featured as much as he would have liked this season, Ross is an important part of the club’s history. Goalkeeper, full back, midfield and last-minute sub!

PHIL BENSON - a few cameo appearances this season have shown us a glimpse of what Phil is capable of. A winger by trade, a friendship with Joel Kanutin has counted against him

MASCOTS: - Joshua Taylor and Zane Levene- the real legacy of Neasden, watch out for these two as stars of the future!
