Tal Ben Haim completed his move from Chelsea to Manchester City on Wednesday.

As revealed in June, the Israeli defender was tracked by the Eastlands club and finally signed a £5 million four-year contract worth more than £60,000-a-week, subject to securing a work permit.

Ben Haim becomes the second Israeli player to join the club following in the footsteps of the now-retired Eyal Berkovic.

Ben Haim said: "I'm joining a very good club, a club with ambition and I am very happy. I will give my heart in every game.

"Mark Hughes matches my ambition. As a player he won almost everything and I'm sure he will want to win some titles as a manager as well."

Yossi Benayoun's agent has rubbished reports that the Israeli national captain will be sold by Liverpool who were reported to have received a £6 million offer from Manchester City.

Benayoun, 28, recently said he wants to stay at Anfield but it was believed that he could be offloaded as the Merseyside club attempt to raise funds to buy Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry.

Benayoun's agent Ronen Katzav said on Wednesday: "There has been no contact or talks with any club about Yossi. He has a contract with Liverpool. I don't believe they want to sell Yossi and, from our point of view, he is only thinking about life at Anfield."
