articlemain

Andy Landesberg is looking forward to unleashing his young, on the whole, Lions squad against Redbridge Jewish Care A at Wingate & Finchley on Sunday.

DANIEL LIPMAN (Goalkeeper)
Dan is a quality keeper who is currently at Brighton University. He was in Lions' highly successful under-18 double cup winning team last season. A very good shot-stopper and extremely brave. Daniel is representing Team GB at this year’s Maccabiah in Futsal.

MATT PERLMAN (Defender/Midfield)
Matt is a superb athlete and has played most of this season. Although normally a midfielder, he has done extremely well at right-back in a number of games. Lots of pace and strong in the tackle.

TONY GOLD (Defender)
Goldie needs no introduction, a quality left-sided player, who is currently the Manager of the successful Lions South Midlands League team. Tony will bring a wealth of experience as well as tactical input to this young squad.

NICK LANDESBERG (Defender)
Another member of the successful under-18’s from last season. A good quality, strong central defender, with ball-playing ability. Strong in the air, scoring a few goals throughout the season. Nick made his Saturday first team debut a couple of weeks ago. He will represent Team GB at this year’s Maccabiah in Futsal.

JAMES GERSHFIELD (Defender/Attacker/Coach)
James needs no introduction as a quality player, representing Team GB in previous Maccabiahs and again this year. James is the coach of this Lions team, and his Saturday football experience both on and off the pitch has been vital in getting Lions to the final. Also plays for Potters Bar Town.

DAVID NEZRI (Midfield)
Another graduate from the club's success under-18 team from last year. An excellent, competitive, talented midfielder who never shirks a challenge. School-work has prevented him playing in more games, but he is in good form and ready for the final.

BRADLEY LANDER (Defender)
Bradley has undoubtedly been one of the most consistent players this season, a quality defender who can play left or right back. Bradley has developed this season, and has also made his Saturday first team debut. Another member of last season's under-18 squad.

YOAV LEBENS (Midfield)
Yoav is Mr London Lions - team captain, with superb attitude and commitment. A good quality midfielder, who is strong in the air. A very reliable member of this squad, and very rarely misses a game. All-rounder Yoav goes to the Maccabiah in the GB Cricket team.

AVIEL SCHWARZ (Midfield)
If Yoav is Mr London Lions, then Aviel is Sir London Lions - a veteran in age, but still a youngster with his midfield playing ability and quality. Has been ever present throughout the season, and whilst many have tried to write him off, he still is very much part of this team. Represents Team GB at this year’s Maccabiah in the Masters.

MAX KYTE (Forward)
As soon as the new Manager was appointed, Max Kyte was straight back down that motorway to his second home, Rowley Lane. A good quality attacker, who has really been a big part of Lions new-found success this season. Has been scoring regularly, including a hat-trick in the JC MSFL against Brixton last weekend, and is very much looking forward to this final.

JORDAN MARKS (Midfield/Forward)
Jordan has been one of the best Lions players to come through the Youth system in the last few years. Played several times for the Saturday 1st team, and a member of Lions' under-18’s from last season. A good quality left-sided attacking midfielder, and a game-changer. Jordan will be the youngest member of Team GB’s football squad.

CHARLIE RUBIN (Midfield)
Charlie is superb left-footed midfielder, who has played both central and wide roles for the team. A member of the under-18’s from last year, and has played extremely well for the team when he has been available. Coming back from an injury, but should be fit. Charlie will represent Team GB at this year’s Maccabiah in Futsal.

TONY 'TJ' KETERMAN (Midfield/Forward)
Whilst TJ has not been available throughout the season, when he has played he has shown his great skills and ability. TJ is comfortable in attack or midfield, and can be a real matchwinner. Warmed up for the final with a hat-trick against Brixton last weekend.

NICK LEWIS (Midfield/Forward)
Nick is a real quality player, who is also extremely strong. Another member of the successful under-18 squad, and also played a number of games for the Saturday reserves last season. Nick is a great ball player and is a superb addition to the squad. The club is disappointed that he hasn't been involved in more games this season.

MANAGER: Andy Landesberg - Andy took on this side when they were bottom of the league, and with the help of James Gershfield and his old under-18 squad from last season, has transformed the team from no-hopers to a team that is in the top five of the league and now gets the chance to win a trophy in this final. Andy has recently been appointed Manager of the Team GB Futsal squad for this year Maccabiah Games.
