An excellent all-round display from Dan Cohen inspired London Maccabi Vale 2nd to a three-wicket success over Bourne End.
The 2nds' first game of the season saw the debut of Avi Hoddes, Alex Brodkin and Sam Ellard.
Hoddes and Brodkin opened the bowling and, after dusting off the cobwebs from their kit, they both looked much the part.
A quick start from Bourne End saw them reach 49 for the first wicket. However, after the introduction of spin in the form of Aviel Schwarz and Simeon Cohen, they started to lose wickets and in turn the run-rate slowed right down.
They were followed by Jeff Permutt, who also helped himself to a wicket, as they reached 120 odd off 30 overs.
A special mention should be made to Jeremy Harris, who took two good catches.
All this was topped off by Dan Cohen who mopped up the tail, helping himself to five wickets and restricting Bourne End to 143 all out.
The LMV top-order all looked promising but all fell cheaply before Dan Cohen came in at no. 6 and accumulated 58 valuable runs. His only mistake was some running out Avi Hoddes.
However, Schwarz and Simeon Cohen were able to see the side home with five overs to spare.
