AC late show

    A last-ditch winner from David Clements saw AC Whetstone A win the annual Under 14 Dennis Shore Memorial tournament Indoor five-a-sides.

    Clements' extra-time strike came with 11 seconds remaining of a tense final against HISHU White B.

    In the region of 100 players representing 12 Maccabi Junior Football League teams took part in a keenly contested competition.

    Whetstone A had beaten Alyth Belsize A in the last four with HISHU White B progressing with a penalty shoot-out victory over Redbridge Yellow A.

    MJFL chairman Laurence Thorne said: "We saw some excellent performances, especially from some of the goalkeepers. Everyone played in the best of spirit and I'm delighted that the dreaded sin-bin was not used."
