The Lions romped to victory 6-0 to complete the second part of a league and cup double, but it remains unclear whether or not the match will be replayed or awarded to the Tigers.

MMFL chairman Stuart Lustigman said: “We have been investigating the matter with the full co-operation of Maccabi London Lions and it appears that one of their players had not played the requisite number of matches in order to qualify to play in the final.

"The League's Management Committee is considering what action will be taken, and a further statement is expected to be issued in the next few days.”

Two goals from Gideon Barnett and one from Ory Halperin gave Lions a comfortable half-time advantage.

Further goals from Michael Abraham and a third from Barnett completed a comprehensive win for Lions, who recently lifted the MMFL Division 2 title.

Marc Morris was named man of the match.
