articlemain

Seven people have been injured after a car rammed a group waiting at a light railway station in Jerusalem.

Some reports indicated that upon hitting the victims, the driver emerged from the vehicle wielding a knife and attempted to stab passers-by, but was unsuccessful.

The attacker was reportedly shot and incapacitated by police.

Magen David Adom (MDA) was alerted at 9:48 this morning and rushed to the scene on Shimon HaTzadik street.

MDA spokesman Zaki Heller said that paramedics and treated the five at the scene, all of whom were conscious.

Early reports indicate that two of the victims were moderately injured.

Shimon HaTzadik street was the site of another hit and run terror attack on November 5, in which one border police offer was killed and 13 injured.
