Simon Cowell and Natalie Portman now have another famous face to join them on the school run, amid reports that Scarlett Johansson is pregnant with her first child.

The 29-year-old, who is engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac, is rumoured to be due in August, according to E! News.

The celebrity website added that, though the actress has publicly stated her desire to start a family in the past, she and Mr Dauriac have no intentions to wed.

The couple’s news follows months of controversy for Ms Johansson, who sparked international debate when she stepped down as an Oxfam ambassador.

In January, the actress cited her “fundamental difference of opinion” with the charity, after it criticised her endorsement of Israeli drinks company SodaStream.
