An Israeli flag was set on fire by protesters outside the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.
Shouts of “long live the Intifada” were heard as the flag was torched, while a Palestinian flag was waved nearby.
Posters supporting former candidate Bernie Sanders were also set alight outside the arena where the convention is being held.
The incidents took place outside the secure zone and it is not known which groups the activists were representing.
Inside the convention, Hillary Clinton was confirmed as the United States' first female Presidential nominee.
Meanwhile, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter caused anger after she tweeted: "Where are all the Bernie supporters tonight? Did Hillary have them gassed?"
