articlemain

A line-up of international bands will play at a new rock festival in Israel, it was announced this week.

Artists such as The Pixies, The Hives and Soundgarden will perform in the country for the first time at the Rock ‘N’ Roller Festival in Tel Aviv in June.

They will play alongside home-grown Israeli talent Elisha Banai and his band The Forty Thieves.

US based band The Pixes will be making their appearance in Israel as part of their 2014 world tour.

Garage rock band The Hives will make their debut performance over the two day event.

Seattle-based rock band Soundgarden are performing at the festival following the lead singer Chris Cornell’s successful solo performances in Israel.

The festival will take place over June 17th and 18th at Tel Aviv’s Bloomfield Stadium.

Its addition to the calendar comes in what promises to be a vintage year for international stars playing in Israel.

Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and the Rolling Stones are all scheduled to perform there in the coming months.
