Israeli killed in second terror attack

articlemain

A young woman has been killed and two others injured in a terror attack in the West Bank.

The three Israelis were stabbed at a junction just outside Alon Shvut, in Gush Etzion. The assailant, reportedly a man from Hebron called Maher al Hashlamon, was shot by a guard at the scene and later died from his injuries.

The other victims, one of whom suffered stab wounds to the jaw, were taken to hospitals in Jerusalem. Neither person is in a serious condition.

It is being reported that the terrorist attempted to run down people gathered at the hitchhiking post, copying other recent attacks, but failed to hit anyone. The perpetrator then exited his car and attacked bystanders.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for the attack, calling it "a heroic act."

In June, terrorists kidnapped three teenagers - Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach - from the same spot, and subsequently killed them.

The incident is the second terror attack today, after a man in Tel Aviv attacked a soldier with a knife, stabbing him multiple times.
