Internet game targets Jews, and gays,

A new internet game launched by a Ukrainian website called ‘Nationalist Simulator — Defend Ukraine’, encourages players to “shoot the enemies of the state — Jews, Russians, members of the lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender communities, Americans and the Communists”.

The game, which is offered free of charge on the five.od.ua website, is meant to parody the views of “radical nationalists”, according to its creator, journalist Alexei Ishchenko.

Players of the lo-fi, space-invaders style game must either dodge or wipe out Chasidic Jews with yarmulkes and sidelocks, among other “enemies” of Ukraine. The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is shown riding a bear while the members of the LGBT communities are represented by rainbow-coloured icons. Audio effects include shouts of “kill, kill”.
