Google is investing millions of dollars in a YouTube channel dedicated to Benito Mussolini.

Having struck a deal with the Italian government, Google will upload an archive containing 30,000 newsreels and documentaries, many of which glorify Mussolini and his reign.

The majority of the videos were recorded by the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, which was used as a propaganda tool by the dictator after it was founded in 1924.

Google's manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Carlo d'Asaro Biondo, told the Guardian: "the films about fascism make us understand and enhance our critical spirit", adding "I am not sure if it's good to make fun, but they seem quite funny".
