Three children were injured after being struck by lightning at a Reform Jewish summer camp in Indianapolis.

The children – a 12-year-old boy, and a girl and boy both aged nine - were caught in a sudden storm during an activity day at the Goldman Union Camp Institute.

One is critically injured, according to a report on ABC News. The other two children are in a stable condition at the Riley Hospital in Indianapolis.

Police said the children were in a field when the lightning hit. Camp staff had started life-saving treatment before medics arrived.
