The Zionist Federation has appointed 27-year-old Arieh Miller as its new director.

He will replace outgoing leader Alan Aziz.

Mr Miller currently works at the Israeli embassy in London where he is head of the Jewish community relations and digital media departments.

The ZF said the appointment represented its “ongoing commitment to modernise and to continue to engage with the next generation of Israel advocates”.

Mr Miller’s experience at the embassy would be “invaluable” in the ZF’s work to defend Israel, the group added.

Paul Charney, ZF chairman, said: “Building on our past successes, this is a demonstration of our desire to be the leading voice for Zionism.

“Arieh’s hands-on experience in one of the most successful and well-respected Israeli embassies in the world set him out as the one to help us achieve that.”

Mr Miller said he was excited by the new role.

“Having worked closely with the ZF for a number of years and in a variety of roles, I have seen first-hand how effective the organisation is, and how much time and effort the staff and volunteers put in to everything they do.

“I am looking forward to being able to be a part of that, bringing my passion for Israel and the UK community together.”
