Leaked training material used to tackle antisemitism inside the Labour party has revealed the scale of the problem.

The Daily Mail has received a copy of training material that has been used to educate 1,200 members of the party about antisemitism.

The sessions carried out by the Jewish Labour Movement feature a slide show of antisemitic messages posted online by the party’s own members.

The slides are used to show members examples of antisemitism in an attempt to stamp out abuse from activists.

According to the Mail, examples of abuse include one Labour member describing Jews as a “corrupt master race”.

Another example of the hate posted by Labour members was one person who wrote: “Every f****** Jew that died in the Holocaust was a blessing.”

The slide showed that it was also Labour councillors spreading hate filled messages.

One councillor suggested there was a worldwide Jewish conspiracy and that Israel wanted to commit crimes across the world.

John Cryer, chairman of the Parliamentary Labour Party, said the examples of antisemitism revealed in the training material were “stomach-churning” and “awful”.

He said: “I have no idea why people who hold these views would want to be a member of the Labour Party.

“The Labour Party has been at the forefront of confronting Nazism right from the 1930s – so what possesses these people to become members I don’t understand. I have seen tweets like this at our disciplinary body and what I know is these people are quickly suspended and expelled.”

JLM have been carrying out training sessions for the past 14 months in an attempt at improving the behaviour of Labour members.

It ran a session at this year’s Labour conference where members were told basic information about antisemitism including what it was.

It explained antisemitism included commenting on the “myth of a world Jewish conspiracy”.

Members were also told antisemitism includes having ideas like “Jews controlling the media” and “holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel”.

As part of the training members were shown the type of antisemitic abuse that MP Luciana Berger and JLM member Rhea Wolfson get on Twitter.

A JLM spokesman said the “training programme is starting to have an impact across the country.

“The examples used are actual samples of antisemitism, and are regularly updated. They are anonymised in order not to prejudice ongoing disciplinary cases.”

According to the Mail the slides were not leaked by JLM.
