Stacey Solomon has finished in third place in the final of X Factor, which was watched by 20 million viewers.

Stacey, who was mentored by Dannii Minogue, was voted out of the ITV show despite never having been in the bottom two of the competition.

Speaking after the vote, Stacey said: "I came third, that's really good. I'm really proud. I've had the time of my life. Thanks to everyone who kept me here to the final."

Dannii Minogue added: "It's been an incredible journey. I've made an amazing friend. I'd just like to thank everyone who supported her - she's an absolute talent and a star."

Olly Murs and Joe McElderry will now sing again on Sunday night and face the last public vote.

Earlier in the show, Stacey sang a duet with Canadian singer Michael Buble. The pair sang Feeling Good, the song made famous by Nina Simone.

Stacey also tackled What a Wonderful World, which she sang for her first X Factor audition, and also performed on Tuesday at her old school, King Solomon High School in Barkingside.

Her final song was Queen's Who Wants to Live Forever, which won her the most praise from the judges, with Simon Cowell enthusing:"Stacey, you absolutely smashed it."
