Labour Friends lean to the left

articlemain

Labour Friends of Israel is relaunching itself as a membership organisation at a debate in Westminster next Tuesday.

The panel discussion, Making the Progressive Case for Israel, will bring together supporters of Israel on the left to discuss how to develop a more proactive approach.

The event is being held jointly with the Labour thinktank Progress, and will be chaired by LFI's new director Jennifer Gerber.

Under the leadership of Ms Gerber and LFI chair David Cairns MP, the organisation will take the argument to supporters of the delegitimisation movement on the Left.

The panel will include Mr Cairns, MP for Inverclyde, alongside Debbie Coulter, the former deputy general secretary of the GMB trade union and Adam Ognall, the chief executive of the New Israel Fund.
