articlemain

Pop star Jess Glynne has received three nominations in this year’s Brit awards, including best female solo artist.

The 26-year-old singer, who released her first solo album “I Cry When I Laugh” last year, is also up for the breakthrough act and best single awards.

The track she has been nominated for, “Hold My Hand,” was her first British number one and was top of the charts for three weeks, going platinum in three countries.

It is the second time the musician has been in the running for a Brit, having been on the shortlist for single of the year in 2014.

Amy Winehouse was posthumously nominated for the female solo honour after the soundtrack to the documentary of her life, “Amy,” was released in October.

The 23-track release entered the British album chart’s top 20 in November.

The awards show will take place on February 24 the O2 Arena in London.
