The hunt is on to find the most influential members of the community. The JC Power 100 will reveal who are British Jewry’s top movers and shakers — based on nominations from JC readers.

We want you to let us know who you think are the most notable figures within the worlds of religion, communal organisations, politics, finance and the arts.

The last JC power list, published in 2008, was topped by former chief rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks, with chair of the Community Security Trust Gerald Ronson second, and philanthropist Trevor Pears third.

But we expect a different outcome this time around, as Ben Rich, chair of the judging panel, explains on this page.

Your nominations — which can be submitted by email, post, or via social media — will be considered by Ben and the other judges, including JC editor Stephen Pollard; JC chairman Stephen Grabiner; Shimon Cohen, Lee Petar and Atalia Cadranel, three PR consultants who work with communal organisations; and Adam Cannon, a Bicom director.

Also on the panel are Nicky Goldman, the director of Lead, the communal leadership development division of the Jewish Leadership Council; Robin Moss, a UJIA educator and trustee of Liberal Judaism; Doreen Samuels, a woman’s representative on the US Trustee Board; Juliet Simmons, former creative director at the JCC for London; and Rebecca Weinberg, former chief executive of the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board.

None of them can be nominated — but that still leaves a very large field to choose from. We look forward to receiving your suggestions.
