Iran expert takes Israel embassy job

articlemain

The new press attaché to the Israeli embassy in London will be Yiftah Curiel, an expert on the Iranian nuclear programme.

Mr Curiel has spent the past three years working in the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s strategic affairs division in Jerusalem, where he concentrated largely on monitoring Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He was previously cultural attaché at the Israeli embassy in Argentina. Prior to joining the Foreign Ministry in 2004, he was a journalist.

He replaces current spokesman Amir Ofek who is returning to Israel after a four-year posting in Britain.
