Former Carmel College teacher accused of sexual abuse

articlemain

A former teacher at Carmel College has been charged with sexual abuse while working at the now closed public school.

Trevor Bolton, 77, of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, was arrested in June last year on suspicion of four counts of indecency with a child and five counts of indecent assault on a male.

He was charged last Thursday and released on bail to appear at Oxford Crown Court next week.

The alleged offences occurred between 1968 and 1988 while he taught at the Jewish college and the victims were pupils, according to Thames Valley Police.

Carmel closed in 1997.
